Product Description

The product is the second targeted antiviral agent for the treatment of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) after GC376. GThe product is a small molecule nucleotide analogue provided by GileadSciences(NO.1 in global antiviral field) to UCDavis (NO.1 in global veterinary science) PerdersenNCjiaoshou2 and its research theme. It is a reverse transcriptase inhibitor that can inhibit the replication of feline ventral virus (FIP) and is a prerequisite molecule for the synthesis of pharmacologically active nucleoside triphosphate.

Action mechanism
The product is phosphorylated intracellular to nucleoside monophosphate (NMP) by cellular kinase and then converted to an active triphosphate metabolite (NTP structural analogue). In viral RNA synthesis, active NTP structural analogs act as competitors of natural nucleosides triphosphate (ATP, TTP, CTP, GTP) to participate in RNA transcription. When the product molecule is inserted into the transcription product, transcription will be prematurely terminated, thus inhibiting the viral RNA transcription process.
