Pharmacological effects: Macrolide antibiotics. Tulathomycin is a semi synthetic macrolide antibiotic. Macrolide antibiotics inhibit the biosynthesis of essential proteins by selectively binding to bacterial ribosomal RNA. They work by promoting the dissociation of peptide tRNA from ribosomes during translocation. Unlike many other macrocyclic ester antibiotics, its drug action lasts longer, partly due to the presence of three amino groups in its structure. Tulathomycin can effectively inhibit Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae in vitro.
The pharmacokinetic study of a single neck muscle injection (2.5mg/kg body weight) in pigs showed that the drug can be rapidly and widely absorbed, then distributed in large quantities and slowly eliminated. The maximum concentration (Cmax) in plasma is approximately 1.1 μ g/ml, and the maximum concentration is reached approximately 17 minutes after administration (Tmax). After reaching the peak of the drug, it slowly decays, and the average elimination half-life (t1/2) in plasma is about 44 hours. The absolute bioavailability of Tulathomycin injection is 110%.
[Indications]: Used for the treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases in pigs caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae.
[Usage and Dosage]: Calculate based on Tulathomycin. Intramuscular injection into the neck: one dose, 2.5mg per 1kg body weight for pigs (equivalent to 1ml/40kg). The dosage for each injection site should not exceed 2ml.
[Adverse reactions] No pain or local swelling was observed at the injection site after intramuscular injection in pigs, but within about 30 days after injection, there were still histopathological changes in the injection site of pigs.
[Precautions]
(1) Animals allergic to macrolide antibiotics are prohibited from use.
(2) This product cannot be used simultaneously with other macrolide antibiotics or lincomycin.
(3)When taking medication multiple times, it is recommended to use specialized suction needles or multi dose syringes to avoid making too many holes in the bottle stopper.
(4) It is recommended to treat the disease in the early stages and evaluate the treatment effect within 48 hours after administration. If the symptoms of respiratory diseases still exist or increase, or if recurrence occurs, the treatment plan should be changed.
(5) Tulathomycin is irritating to the eyes. If the eyes accidentally come into contact with this product, please rinse immediately with water.
(6) Skin contact with Tulathomycin can cause allergic reactions. If the skin accidentally comes into contact with this product, please rinse immediately with soap and water.
(7) Please wash your hands after use.
(8) Keep out of reach of children.
